About Us
The Pinawa Ironwood is a beautiful complex in the calm and peaceful community of Pinawa, Manitoba, located only an hour northeast of Winnipeg. Surrounded by boreal forest, sparkling lakes and vast parkland, Pinawa is full of wildlife and greenery for all to enjoy.

The Pinawa Ironwood is locally owned and managed, and was born as a result of the hard work and vision of determined local residents who recognized the need for 50+ housing in their community. Our mission is to provide our tenants with a safe, comfortable and affordable living environment that promotes community, social interaction and personal growth. The Ironwood has two components:

50+ Living

Our complex includes twenty-four spacious 1-2 bedroom suites, all with dens and walk-out patios, so you can enjoy the nature around you. We have a large common room for our tenants to use as a meeting place to socialize and take part in different activities throughout the week. Tenants will also have access to heated parking, and can enjoy our beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. After only one visit to the Pinawa Ironwood, you will feel at home.

The Pinawa Ironwood Supportive Living Wing has 12 single-bedroom suites with a common sun room, dining room and patio. Services include all meals prepared on site at our Ironwood kitchen, housekeeping, laundry services, daily activities and a 24-hour tenant companion on site to assist the tenants. We are committed to providing our residents with exceptional care and compassion in a safe and comfortable home.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is included in the tenant’s package?

When you live at The Pinawa Ironwood, everything except your home phone is covered. This includes hydro, satellite TV, all maintenance, and outdoor parking with plug-in capabilities. Additional storage space, outdoor parking with plug-in capabilities and indoor parking is available for an additional charge.

2. What is the smoking policy?

The Pinawa Ironwood is 100% smoke free, including in the suites, gardens, common areas and garages. Smoking is only permitted outside in the designated smoking areas.

3. Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed, however there are size restrictions and rules to be followed. For more information, please contact the building manager, Chuck Handford at 204 753 2105.

4. Are tenants allowed to access the gardens?

Yes, the gardens are accessible to all tenants. Every Spring there is a tenant meeting held, where you can request a garden plot. We do our best to accommodate all of our interested tenants.
