Pinawa offers a diverse range of year-round recreational opportunities. Below you will find a calendar of recreation programs for the month of May. 

If you have questions regarding these programs, or have a program to add to the calendar, please email recreation@pinawa.com and our Recreation Coordinator, Madison Backer will be happy to assist you.  

Pinawa Recreation is collecting information for a volunteer bank. This volunteer bank will help streamline volunteer recruitment, and will also allow us to share funding opportunities to groups and clubs. Email recreation@pinawa.com to have your name, contact email, current volunteer groups, and skills/interests added to the online database.   

 ParticipACTION Community Challenge

What is the ParticipACTION Community Challenge presented by Novo Nordisk?

The Community Challenge is a national physical activity and sport initiative that encourages everyone in Canada to get active throughout June in search of Canada’s Most Active Community, which will win $100,000 to support local sport and physical activity initiatives.

We are kicking off the Community Challenge with a COMMUNITY-A-THON on June 1st!  

Join us for a full day of fun activities for all ages and stages to keep moving and earning movement minutes for Pinawa! We would like to get the ENTIRE community to support this event and initiative!

Art in the Gardens

Art in the Gardens is taking place Sunday, June 27th at 10am-4pm. You can register to be a part of this unique event until May 20th, 2025. Email recreation@pinawa.com for the registration form! 

As a participating ARTIST, you’ll have the opportunity to share your creative process, sell your artwork, and foster meaningful conversations with visitors and your garden host about the connection between your art and the gardens that surround it. Together, let’s make this tour an unforgettable experience that celebrates the harmony of art and nature in our community.

As a participating GARDENER, you’ll have the chance to showcase your garden as an inspiring outdoor gallery space. Your garden will serve as more than just a backdrop — it will be a source of inspiration, conversation, and connection. Together, we’ll create a memorable experience for our community that celebrates the creativity of both nature and art.

COMING IN JUNE

  Join us for a day long Stained Glass Workshop on Saturday, June 7th at the Pinawa Alliance Church  

Stained glass workshops provide hands-on experience with various techniques, such as glass cutting, soldering, and assembling. Participants can explore different styles—from traditional to contemporary—allowing for personal expression and artistic growth. Email recreation@pinawa.com to register or stop by the LGD office!
