This one-and-a-half-hour class consists of 40 minutes of low impact aerobics, with a long gentle warm-up leading to more vigorous low impact movement to music, followed by a cool down to bring heart rates down gradually.
This is followed by resistance training to build strength and improve muscular endurance using weights and different resistance equipment, balance activities, and stretching to help improve flexibility and joint mobility.
There is an emphasis on breathing for relaxation and tension reduction. This class is a good fit for someone who wants a more vigorous workout with less impact. Modifications can be made to suit individual needs due to injury or other limitations.

This hour-long class consists of 25 minutes of low impact aerobic activity to music, followed by resistance training with light weights for muscular endurance, strength, and power. Balance exercises and stretches for flexibility round out the class, for a total body focus.
Modifications can be made for those with mobility issues or physical limitations. For those who havenโ€™t exercised in a while, โ€œlow and slowโ€ is the way to go, and this class is a good place to start to improve your physical and mental well-being!

YOGA CLASSES WITH FRAN

๐‡๐š๐ญ๐ก๐š ๐˜๐จ๐ ๐š w/ Fran:
Hatha yoga refers to a set of physical poses designed to align the muscles and bones and open the many energy channels of the body, especially the spine, so that energy can flow freely.
Hatha yoga is intended to create a balance of strength and flexibility in the body as well as a balance of effort and surrender in each pose. A powerful tool for self-transformation, Hatha yoga requires that one pay special attention to the breath, which helps calm the fluctuations of the mind and calm the nervous system. This allows the practitioner to become more present in the unfolding of each moment, resulting in more awareness and relaxation. The use of props and modifications will be used if necessary so that even those with a decreased range of motion can enjoy the benefits of a traditional practice.
[the ability to get up and down off the floor is required in this class. If knees are an issue for you please consider Chair Yoga that offers all the same benefits of a regular Hatha Class]
๐‚๐ก๐š๐ข๐ซ ๐˜๐จ๐ ๐š w/ Fran:
You may think youโ€™ve reached a limitation that prevents you from enjoying the rich benefits of yoga. Think again! There are many yoga poses which can be modified to be performed seated comfortably.
These poses increase mobility, flexibility, strength and body awareness. When standing poses are included in a chair yoga class, the chair is used to help with and improve balance.
Chair yoga also includes breathing techniques and meditation to promote focus, mental clarity and relaxation. Chair yoga is an exceptional approach for anyone with physical limitations to get the optimal health benefits while building physical strength and flexibility.

JR.NBA YOUTH BASKETBALL

Cyril Indome is the lead coach for this program!
Cyril Indome brings a wealth of basketball experience as both a player and a coach. A former university basketball player, Cyril has coached at the university, high school, club, and provincial levels.
Above all, Cyril believes a young athlete's first experiences with basketball should be fun and positive. His focus with young players is on building confidence, learning basic skills, being a great teammate, and developing a love for the game in an energetic and encouraging environment.
Thank you to Samantha Laughlin and Josie Long for also coaching  this new program!
